Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the list of your roles: mom, professional, student, entrepreneur, artist… and wonder how you're supposed to do it all without collapsing?
In episode 3 of La Maison des Parents , Eve shares this experience of " multi-hats " which ends up becoming a real superpower.
🎨 An introverted mom… with many lives
Eve is a mother of a little boy, a painter, a communications employee at Alloprof and a master's student in art therapy.
She describes herself as introverted, easily anxious, and often overcome by fear. And yet, she finds that her life has never been as full of projects as it has been since she became a mother.
✨ Motherhood as a trigger
It's a paradox that many parents recognize: before, we had more time and fewer responsibilities, but we didn't necessarily dare to take the plunge. Motherhood (or parenthood) sometimes acts as a trigger.
We want to set an example, to instill confidence, to teach our children not to remain prisoners of their fears. So, we start with ourselves.
For Eve, this superpower manifested itself in several areas: resuming her studies for a master's degree, developing her career as an artist, traveling alone with her son, going to a chalet, and cross-country skiing while pulling him in a cart.
None of this means she's no longer afraid. On the contrary, she reiterates that she still harbors these fears, but refuses to let them dictate her life. An important point she emphasizes: just because you wear many hats doesn't mean you have to experience everything as a performance.
🧘Finding the balance
Taking things one day at a time, accepting that some periods will be more intense and others calmer, is part of maintaining balance. Her son's naps, for example, have become precious times for her to read, work on her master's degree, or simply relax.
This is her little window into the heart of her parental day. We often talk about " mental load ," but much less about the pride that can come from seeing oneself able to juggle several projects.
🏆 These quiet victories deserve to be celebrated
Without glorifying exhaustion, it is possible to recognize that these multiple roles also help us grow.
We learn to be better organized , to say no, to prioritize, to seek help when needed, and to constantly adapt. For introverted mothers, like Eve, the challenge is twofold: stepping outside their social comfort zone while respecting their need for peace and quiet.
It shows that you can travel alone with your child, reach out to others, accept help, while still reserving bubbles of silence, reading, and nature.
These recharging moments are essential, not optional.
🌿 Be yourself… and dare to be yourself anyway
His message is very simple:
- You don't need to be someone else to be a good mom.
- Your sensitivity, your introversion, your doubts can coexist with your courage.
- Your hats are not enemies, but the different facets of the same person who is fulfilling themselves.
➡️And if, in this equation, the equipment weighs you down ( stroller , car seat , travel bed , ski trolley …), you can delegate this part.
In Quebec, Bébé Solutions allows you to rent what you need for your projects with your child, whether it's a trip, a cottage, or a weekend in nature.
You save your mental strength for what really matters: taming your fear, taking your place and showing your child that you can be yourself… while daring to try new things.
